A personal note from Sylvia
Sacred Pathways to Places of the Heart.
I am basking in the autumn sunshine at my residence in Perth, Western Australia. Home again from the beautiful island of Tenerife.
Tenerife is one of seven islands that make up the Canarian archipelago. The volcano, Mount Teide is still active, and it last erupted in 1909. While there - I had the profound experience of walking on her sacred pathways. It felt like layers of petticoats reaching from her summit to unknown lengths and depths of the Atlantic ocean.
I was on the island to attend the Knowlative 5th World Conference - centred on the theme of Unwinding Trauma. A study dear to my heart. I was privileged to speak on an aspect of my speciality - “Transforming DNA Memories”.
Back home now, my ‘self’ has left the island but the presence of Mt. Teide is within me.
An experience that’s not about words but about connection. To rest silently in the presence of the mountain I felt the child/sage senses within me experiencing again the pulsing and murmurings of ancient times.
During my childhood I lived several years in the presence of Mount Horrible (Wapouri) in the South Island of New Zealand and further, to the experiences of clambering the Tasman Glacier in the Mount Cook region. To listen, connect and feel the grind of the earth below. Over time large pieces of the earth broke, possibly due to frost wedging time, age, abrasion and grinding into rocks, the rocks turning to boulders, stones and sand travelling through rivers and lakes to eventually join the great oceans of life.
The world we live in has so much to be explored, I feel my whole of life exploration is a minuscule sniff of the depth of treasures of this wondrous world we inhabit. Perhaps this is why my work is about “the hidden dimensions and influences that impact our lives”. Perhaps my life and work is more than layers of skin, more than ancestral story…rather the privilege of sharing the inner child curiosity and sage passion for new discoveries.
From time long gone I’ve written about “Places of the Heart”… and today say: “thank you Tenerife, your antiquity, friendships love and passion – refreshed my Soul.”
