The Heart of What Matters

A personal note from Sylvia.

The Heart Of What Matters

My thoughts were roaming hills and valleys, rivers, forest, and the rugged ocean edge of a favourite place that grips my heart…New Zealand. My eyes feasting on the abundance of nature’s beauty, following the snow-capped rugged horizon where the mountains etched the sky.

Memories of my groaning feet tripping and trudging through the trauma, and wonderings of childhood. Solitary journeys of mysterious aloneness and multitudes of unknowns.

I had always been a child full of curiosity, suddenly I became a seeker. A seeker of the truth.

This recent July day while back in my beloved New Zealand, I followed the tracks of a long ago journey that changed my life forever. A child, nudging the edge of teenage years, it was a journey that taught me to always seek truth.

Kahlil Gibran wrote: Your loving is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life. Not so much what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.

The beauty of life’s journey is etched in whom we become. The more I inquired the more I learnt and understood. I’m still inquiring, learning, questioning. Life is full.

Life is beautiful…alone but never lonely, at peace but also restless…there is always more to learn and understand.

The prayer from my heart today dear seekers of wisdom, is truth and love…when you find truth, your find trust and when you find your trustfulness, past traumas heal and you begin to love your-self more fully.
