WHY MEDITATE?

WHY MEDITATE? .... written by Sylvia Marina

Every time you touch the quiet place within you connect to the state called meditation.

I love this place.
Each morning I tune in to the chorus of our neighbourhood birds. I watch the day commence, the sky changes colour and then...there is a moment of complete nothingness. When I return to present time sounds I know I have been in the depths of what is termed, meditation.

There are many reasons to meditate. People use meditation techniques to stabilise blood pressure, increase libido, eliminate insomnia, improve motor performance skills, lower cholesterol, heal headaches, reduce pain, help in post-operative healing, strengthen immune system, emotional stability, ease stress, reduce anxiety, eliminate panic attacks, understand emotions, increase focus and concentration, break habits, find peace of mind, find solutions, gain direction, clarify your purpose, the benefits are endless.

Why do I meditate?

I've been ‘doing it’ since I was a young child. I initially didn’t know it had a name. There were times as a child I needed to connect, to belong to something. The quiet place was my place of belonging.
A place where my inner rage would be quietened and I would promise myself, I will find answers. One day I will find a place where I belong. That desire came true. I have that place.

Anger, rage, stress...where does it come from?

I was a fully ‘participating in life’ child but inside was fury that manifested in medically unexplained raging fevers.
For everyone there are numerous learnt behaviours but when it comes to seething anger, jealousy and wrath most will have carried the gene of anger or jealousy from conception. Inherited from our ancestors we strive to overcome it to live in peace with our family and the world.

Unresolved, seething within bursts out as cancer, elevated blood pressure, weakened immune system...

Meditation has been used in studies relating to cancer in the body. Meditation helps to relieve the anxiety and stress associated with or the basis of the cancer to such a degree that it can actually inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Does meditation have to be hours?
I meditate twice or more a day.
Depending on the day my morning meditation is ten to twenty minutes.
I relax my body and brain till I reach that special quiet spot and the then I bask in that stillness.

At night before bed I take a few moments to review my day. I put to peace any unresolved issues and go to my quiet place within, my place of meditation.

High pressure days I may go to my quiet place several times throughout the day – just for a few moments or minutes! I am so practiced at it, if I need to I can do it on stage and my audiences don’t know...well you do now so you will ‘spot it’ from the gallery!

Where can you learn...
I teach one-to-one and group sessions. Hundreds of our clients from babies to all-age, use our Quiet Moments CD to help them relax. In our four day training Transforming DNA Memories you learn and take home meditations. You also learn how to connect and erase ancestral negative patterns of behaviour - a must for all permanent change.

I wish you inner peace, love and joy. Sylvia
