REDISCOVER JOY

REDISCOVER JOY ... written by Sylvia Marina

Remember when you were unstoppable and you loved life! Close your eyes for a moment, feel and relive a childhood moment of freedom, connect to a time when the spirit of play and discovery was real in your life.

Many times this year I have recalled childhood moments of freedom.
These times where almost always cut short, either by the fading light of day or the urgent call from an adult to attend to the important demands of life on the farm. I so often bore the pain of regret as I would again be punished for not having completed my jobs.

The spirit of adventure always persuaded my child heart. Caught up in the world of discovery, life was so enthralling. Bird-nesting, tree climbing, rabbit hunting...we did fun things for the sheer joy of discovery.

We were always in the process of learning and becoming.  We were creative and adventurous and it was this process that became a part of who we are now. That creativity was in part disabled crushed, infused with the idea that fun and play was a misuse of time. I have never, cannot and will not believe that fun and play is a misuse of time.

Imagine when you believe all is possible and life is filled with joy. When through your own creativity and discovery a part of your daily life is more about what you want to learn, understand and become, rather than a bunch of tasks on a to-do-list.

Can we allow ourselves to connect to our creative qualities?

Qualities that were dominant in our childhood... and engage that part of us that truly believed everything is possible.

When life is relentlessly task pressured and time disciplined the left hemisphere of the brain is constantly engaged. Authority inhibits and crushes the vibrant spirit of creativity and joy.

Rediscover joy. Being open, engaging that part of us that truly believes everything is possible evokes playfulness opening our heart to the vibrant spirit of creativity and fun and bringing more joy into our lives, relationships, family and business.

More joy and playfulness?... YES.
