THE POWER OF R.A.I.D
written by Sylvia Marina

I couldn't get my creativity flowing!
My energy wouldn’t focus?
It took me a moment to figure out why!

Have you ever had the experience of a favourite song that keeps replaying? After a while it’s not a favourite tune anymore, it becomes an irritation and distraction – well it was a bit like that.

I rarely listen to the media news, but this one morning it caught my ear.

Within a few minutes my head was full of busy thoughts clamouring for space and priority. One short statement triggered a thought which raced at lightning speed creating an internal story that had the capacity to negatively influence my entire headspace; well I wasn’t allowing my magnificent day to be wasted, so I grabbed the ‘D’ word DISCIPLINE and practiced my R.A.I.D

R. - Recognise the dominating thought.
A. - Acknowledge the problem.
I. -  Identify the entry point.
D. - Decide to delete, delete.

Recognise the dominating thought. When thoughts are unconstructively multiplying it is important to consciously stop the gush and flow. If possible get a glass of water, slowly sip and ...

Acknowledge the problem. What memory has been stimulated? Is it fact or fiction? And how does this influence my life right now. What is my fear or lesson? Acknowledge the fear or lesson.
Grasp the lesson – another sip of water!

Identify the entry point. At what point did this obsessive thought begin.

Decide to delete, delete. Make a conscious thought to clear your mind.

Complete your session by imagining washing the headspace clean with the remaining water.
This personal intelligence exercise only takes moments.

Personal intelligence is defined as the feelings and emotions of oneself and the ability to understand and interpret these feelings in order to guide behavior (Salovey, Mayer 1994).

We choose to live in a world where the spoken word is a valued communication, it is our responsibility to be the gate-keeper - choose what to carry through the day. The thoughts we choose affect our brain cells.

These cells vibrate and send electromagnetic waves to every cell of our body. Since it is you who creates these electric waves, your whole being is put into that vibration.  When you hold happy, harmonious thoughts you have a happy and harmonious resonance within your body and energy field. When we have irritation, misunderstanding or disturbing thought your whole being is affected.

In ancient times spiritual seekers observed silence in order to deepen their awareness and creative thought. We need moments of stillness within our brain. Self mastery practice gives you skills to communicate with words and actions and at the same time have a capacity to be focused and calm within.

Most choose to be entangled with various activities from raising family to making a living, fulfilling our relationships and social needs, through all of this, to be able to maintain a sense of quiet and calmness within will keep you connected to your intuitive power and wisdom self.
