NOTHING WAS EVER THE SAME AGAIN

NOTHING WAS EVER THE SAME AGAIN (pdf)

NOTHING WAS EVER THE SAME AGAIN - Written by Sylvia Marina

Sometimes we are so consumed in our daily business that we forget to take a look at a larger picture of who we are and where we are headed in life.

We go through the actions of children and chores of business and bounty and it takes an extra-ordinary event such as a forced change of career, a life threatening illness, the death of a loved one to focus our attention on the meaning in our lives.

Why is it that some people wait to be faced with a diagnosis or tragedy, to review what they have done, what they might have done and wonder what it all means.

Through adversity we learn what we truly value, what our life is for and we become clear on what we truly value.

Too many put aside what –matters-most while they become successful in business.

What if the day came when you had worked long hours for... the dream home, the cruise, the long holiday and now there was no-one to share it with!

Intimacy and conversation, gone!
Interests in common, gone!

The money focused busy mind says, it will never happen, dear friend I am writing this today because it does happen, it just happened to another of my clients.  All that they once valued is now empty.

Nothing will ever be the same again.

The partnership bed is empty, the meal time conversations silenced and in it’s place tears at the lawyers office.

What can we do? Improve your communicating skills.

Daily, have open communication, the shared dreams, the understanding and peppering your life with realistic dreams, to be resourceful while remembering to pace your life for daily play, fun, meal- time good-things-that-happened-today type conversations, time for music, prayer and/or meditation, time for family walks and creating togetherness time.

From my experience, keep this thought in your mind…I am a conference speaker and master trainer; in preparing an effective speech always begin with the end in mind. Always keep focus on the complete picture and build your presentation around the final message. Why am I telling you this, it is the same in life...always keep the end in mind.

Take time today to make a list of what matters most to you. If it takes another year or five to achieve your dream home … through nurturing your relationships (you must take time every day to do that) and caring for your own soul too, rather than an empty house that echo’s with regret, disappointments, heartache and tears, you will have a home with those who you love and precious souls who respect and love you too.
