GRACE IS A GIFT

GRACE IS A GIFT written by Sylvia Marina

Grace I feel is the loveliest word in the English language.

To me it is a contributing measure to meaningful living.
The degree of meaning and fulfilment you experience in your life is a direct result of your level of engagement and conversation with the world around you and with yourself.

Having more conversation, no matter how trivial builds confidence. Those times of chit-chat has helped many a person decide whether to trust, and whether it is safe to take a conversation or relationship further.

Published in a recent issue of Psychological Science...People who spend less time alone and more time talking to others have a much greater sense of personal well-being.

An important part of all conversation is contained in the art of listening. A tendency of most people is to keep thinking of what next to say rather than focusing on the words and meaning, energy and body language.

To tune-in to what the other person is trying to communicate will prevent you from interrupting too much. When you constantly interrupt the speaker it means you think you are more important than the other and what the other has to say. Wait, (remember ‘grace’ it’s a beautiful word) it’s a conversation, and conversations are interactive, your turn will happen.

Conversations and attitudes! The spirit in which we do anything determines the outcome, whether positive or negative. I recall listening to Amanda Gore, her words stuck positively in my memory… “
People are no longer a company's/employee’s most important asset; the spirit in which they do things is!”

People with a positive spirit are inspired, motivated, excited about what they do, and create strong lasting relationships.

In all relationships attitude is more than positive thinking it is having a positive spirit.

Take time for ‘human moments’.

I often hear the expression ‘I must make time to…’. Friends you cannot make time, but you can take time! Take time for personal conversations for it is conversations in your personal life that sustain the relationships with your partner, children, families, friends. Without conversations we lose connection. Taking time for what is truly important, and carving out personal time as high priority, will enliven each of our relationships.

Grace is a gift of tender compassion. Conversation gives us an avenue to explore our inner depths of love and grace.

“Grace is a soul-thrilling concept; it must be deeply appreciated, never manipulate, never distorted.”
